II MEETING WITH SCIENTISTS

This activity is a performance promoted by the projectsTrust 2.0 and Erasmus+of the IES Fidiana, which intend to share experiences of science and international cooperation through images. In addition, we have theoffice collaborationEurope Direct of the Diputación de Córdoba.

WHAT DO WE INTEND?

Bringing Secondary and Baccalaureate students closer to Europe as a science exchange.

Know the lines of scientific research of Cordoba research centers of national and international prestige such as the IAS-CSIC, UCO and IMIBIC.

Initiate students in research and equip them with de tools useful to access the studies college, further of to promotevocations scientific.

Visit the exhibition of the INSTANT SCIENCE photography contest and award ceremony for the winning photographs.
The event began with the intervention ofDoña María Ángeles Domínguez, director of IES Fidiana,who told us about the benefits of research and its importance for today's society.

We started our appointment with science by approaching Europe as a place for research exchange and we did it with a paper entitled "THE MULTIPLE FACES OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH". Some brushstrokes on the importance of collaboration, financing and dissemination of research in the European context. He told us about it Doña Teresa Roldan Arjona. Professor of Genetics. Next, we delve into the scientific world with the presentation entitled"WHEAT CHROMOSOME MANIPULATION IN THE CONTEXT OF PLANT GENETIC IMPROVEMENT". A general vision of the current situation and the immediate future of genetic improvement in agriculture, addressing scientific concepts of great interest. For this we had the pleasure of having the presence of Mrs Pilar Prieto Aranda. Vice-director of the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture of Córdoba (IAS-CSIC) and researcher in wheat genetic improvement.

We learned the conclusions of theI International Scientific Congress 'Young Euroscience'-held in May 2022-, led byMrs. Elena León Rodríguez, Coordinator of Educational Innovation and Curricular Development Project Fidiciencia 2.0,which it serves to open the minds of students, give them incentives, guidance and inspiration to look for topics for future research. In addition, a couple of students,Alejandro Ariza and Paula Maestre, gave testimony of their experiences as participants in the 2022 congress.

Keep goingWe kicked off the event with a wonderful live demonstration of Fun Physics titled"NOW I FALL!... A DIFFERENT VISION OF SOMETHING VERY SIMPLE" , demonstration by the doctor of chemistryDon Enrique Navarro Aganzoaround experiences about the fallto of bodies Es emeritus professor at IES Fidiana y Member of the Association of Teachers of Córdoba for Scientific Culture. Thanks to his pedagogical and informative skills, he introduced us to the world of Physics and experimentation. Our young audience enjoyed the fun experiences"in situ".

We ended with the Instant Science Photography contest, in which photos were received from IES Fidiana, IES Trassierra, Colegio Almedina, CES Lope de Vega and IES, all of them from the province of Córdoba, but also from IES Severo Ochoa from the province from Grenada and up to Sweden.
The 30 best photographs were exhibited in the council. Those attending the event had the opportunity to visit it and vote for their favorite photo, for which an "audience award" was also awarded by popular vote.
AWARD GIVING ACT
The Jury, taking into account the results of the evaluation carried out by expert advisors, carried out the selection process of the photographs presented and selected the three most outstanding according to criteria of creativity, technical and scientific quality.
